What are the current requirements for travel healthcare workers?
The minimum requirements for traveling healthcare workers include a valid license in the discipline in which you practice, a current BCLS (CPR) card, updated physical and vaccinations, one year of recent clinical experience and solid employer references.
What is the typical duration of a travel assignment?
The majority of travel assignments are for 13 weeks. Occasionally, opportunities for shorter or longer assignments are available.
How long is my commitment for an assignment?
When accepting an assignment we ask that you commit to the length of that assignment
How will my travel healthcare company prepare me for my assignment?
Once you have accepted an assignment, your recruiter will confirm your start date, shift, unit and salary. They will then send you a package with all the information you will need to start your assignment, including accommodations.
Do I need a license for each state as an RN?
Yes, and you must be sure to be licensed before you begin your assignment.
Once I'm licensed to travel in one state, how long does it take to get licensed in the next state I'm traveling to?
It depends on the state: each has different licensing regulations. You may be able to get your license the same day you apply, or it may take up to several months.
What shifts will I be required to work?
Much like traditional hospitals, full-time schedules run 40 hours a week. Those shifts may be completed in five eight-hour days, four 10-hour days or three 12-hour days, depending on the needs of the hospital.
What will my salary be?
Pay rates depend on your specialty and experience as well as the facility and the location.
What happens once my assignment is complete?
If the facility would like to extend your assignment, you can continue with them if you’d like. If you or the facility do not wish to extend your assignment, you may contact Soliant to sign up for a new assignment or permanent position elsewhere.
